The first week of January started with a positive mentorship session called “Gaining Practical Skills while Creating Digital Content,” held on January 6th in Vilnius, Lithuania. This event was part of the Erasmus+ project “Fast-Tracking Digital Inclusion”, organized by the Lithuanian partner Inovacijų Biuras.
Young people from various backgrounds attended to learn about digital skills and important career readiness skills. The session focused on tackling real-life job challenges, highlighting the need for both technical skills and social skills, especially for job interviews.
From Content Creation to Career Confidence
While the project’s broader focus is on digital inclusion and content creation, this mentorship session went a step further by addressing real-life career challenges faced by young people. The event highlighted the importance of combining technical skills with interpersonal capabilities, particularly when it comes to job interviews, a critical step in any professional journey.

During the session, participants explored:
- How to properly prepare for a job interview, from researching a company to structuring responses.
- Analysis of online vs. in person interviews, understanding how each format requires a different approach.
- Verbal and non-verbal communication, discovering the hidden messages behind tone, expression, and body posture.
- Body language and gestures, decoding what they say about confidence, interest, and professionalism.

A Safe Space to Learn, Ask, and Grow
What made this session particularly impactful was its interactive and inclusive atmosphere. Young participants were encouraged to share their thoughts, ask questions, and practice skills in a supportive environment. By analyzing different interview scenarios, both successful and challenging, they could identify strengths and areas for improvement.
The session not only offered technical knowledge, but also helped build self-awareness and confidence, making it a well-rounded experience for everyone involved.
Looking Ahead: Mentoring for a Brighter Future
The mentorship session concluded with a shared commitment to continue learning and growing together. Participants and organizers agreed to hold future online mentoring sessions, expanding access and keeping the momentum going.
This event marked just one of many impactful actions under the DigiFast initiative. As the project progresses, it aims to equip youth across Europe with practical digital skills, confidence, and the tools to thrive in both online and offline spaces.
